By participating in the POD fitness sessions, I acknowledge and agree to the following: I understand that exercise and physical activity involve inherent risks, including but not limited to injury, muscle strain, falls, illness, or in rare cases, serious injury. I voluntarily choose to participate in these sessions and accept all risks associated with my involvement. I confirm that I am physically able to take part in exercise and have no medical condition that would prevent safe participation. If I have any concerns about my health, I understand it is my responsibility to seek medical advice before attending. I agree to listen to instructions, use equipment safely, and train within my own limits. I understand that it is my responsibility to stop exercising if I feel pain, dizziness, discomfort, or unwell at any time.
I acknowledge that the Meke Foundation, its trainers, and any associated staff are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur as a result of my participation, except where required by law. I agree to inform the trainer of any injuries, medical conditions, or changes to my health before participating in sessions. I understand that sessions may be held outdoors and that weather or environmental conditions may vary, and I accept these conditions as part of training.
The Meke Foundation collects participant information to support programme delivery, monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and improve our services. With appropriate consent, de-identified information may also be used for approved research, including academic research, publications, presentations, and programme evaluation. Participation in research is voluntary and will not affect access to Meke Foundation programmes or support. Additional consent will be obtained for interviews, recordings, photographs, video, podcasts, or identifiable information. The Meke Foundation is committed to protecting participant privacy, confidentiality, mana and dignity, and ensuring research involving Māori, whānau and communities is conducted ethically, culturally appropriately, and with consideration of Māori data sovereignty.
